“The Monstrous Book of Monsters” GIVEAWAY
Posted on October 6, 2011 by FoBaM-Jamie
There are few things more universally fascinating to kids than monsters. Since the dawn of time, children all over the world have been captivated by stories about bogeymen, vampires, mummies, and all manner of unnamed beasties who traditionally live in closets and under beds. Which of us hasn’t at one time in our lives taken a running leap into bed as a precaution against feeling nasty claws or slithering tentacles wrapping around our ankles?
If you have a monster-loving child (or aspiring monster aficionado) in your family, your home library absolutely must include a copy of The Monstrous Book of Monsters. This is the definitive guide to all things slimy, scaly, furry, and toothy. But, be warned! The information contained in this fabulously illustrated and annotated tome is not for the faint of heart.
Written by “Dr. Thomas Jelly,” The Monstrous Book of Monsters is packed to busting with nauseating details, graphic renderings, and little-known monster trivia. There are sections on how to spot monsters, monster anatomy, record-breaking monsters (including greatest gas produced and longest tongue … ewww), avoidance strategies, defensive tactics, and more. The knowledge of Dr. Jelly (as compiled by author Libby Hamilton and artists Aleksei Bitskoff and Jonny Duddle) is presented in the form of field notes. Each page features monster-related tips and tricks in bite-sized snippets of text that accompany a staggering number of drawings.
To make kids’ “research” more fun, the book is full of flaps, pop-ups, mini books, and sliding bits that reveal hidden monsters and additional secrets for the ever-curious student of strange and scary creatures. All the information is delivered in a humorous, tongue-in-cheek style seasoned with a healthy dose of gross. This is a book that will entertain for hours.
Just in time for Halloween, our friends at Templar Books (an imprint of Candlewick Press) have offered to give away five copies of The Monstrous Book of Monsters to brave-hearted Fans of Being a Mom readers. Whether you’re catering to existing ghoulish interests or trying to diffuse youthful fears with a little humor, this fun and irreverent book will fit the bill perfectly.
For a chance to win one of the free copies, simply leave a comment below sharing your thoughts about monsters. All
comments must be in by midnight EST, Saturday, October 8, 2011 and include a valid email address. Please note that the comment must be on the blog, not on our Facebook fan page to be eligible to win. If you’re one of our randomly selected winners, we’ll be in touch by email to get all your shipping details so the nice folks at Templar Books can send out your goodies.
Good luck and here’s to all things that go bump in the night!
P.S. Feel free to share this blog post and contest with friends and family through the Facebook “Like” button at the top of this post. Thanks!

I have 3 kids and having to close the closet doors every night gives me some experience of monsters! I never could have that closet door open when I was a kid and to this day I still can’t! LOL
Monsters are MAGNIFICENT <3 My three littles live for reading, and our evening routine includes story after story. This would be a wonderful addition to our Halloween library!
When my daughter was younger we used to read a book called, “My Monster Mama Loves Me So”. As a teacher and a mother I know I could put this book to wonderful use so please randomly pick ME!
with three boys we LOVE monsters, the creepier the scarey-er the better!
There’s something fantastic about these legendery creatures, sharing these tales with my daughter makes for a very exciting storytime!

Monsters are great, as long as my son understands they are only make believe!
Sounds like fun!
My kids love monsters. Even though they sometimes get scared of the monsters in their rooms, we just go in the room and ‘tell’ the monsters that it’s time to go back outside now and they can play with the kids tomorrow. We never have much of an issue with them beyond that.
My kids are obsessed with everything monsters and Halloween right now!

I have a 6 year old son who is absolutely obsessed with all things fantasy, especially monsters. We have been using books like these to help him learn to read because other books just don’t seem to hold his attention the same way. I know this book would make a wonderful addition to our home library that he would enjoy for years to come!!!
MY DAUGHTER WOULD LOVE A BOOK ABOUT MONSTERS, SHE LOVES HAVING A US READ NEW BOOKS TO HER. AND LOVES MONTSTERS, SHE EVEN PRETENDS TO BE ONE….

My son is just now getting into monsters!! I LOVE talking about them during this time of year!! He looks at me with those huge eyes! It great! Unfortunately, we do not have an extensive library with books about monsters in it. This book would be a great addition!
We love monsters and monster books!
My 5 year olds use being scared of monsters — and all kinds of other things– to get out of doing things! Not sure if they really are scared or not, but it always seems to come up when they have to pick up their room or do some kind of chore!
I am a preschool teacher who also has a 4 yr old daughter. She loves monsters, vampires, ghosts, anything spooky really. Lately she has been seeing a giant that lurks in our hallway and the occasional ghostie at bed time. This would be a great book for her as well as the other 6 children in our class!
The thought of winning this fabulous book is the equivelent of the lottery to my darling little tomboy who loves to draw and create new monsters while wearing a princess gown! Thank you for promoting this book!
I have two boys ages 4 and 2 who absolutely LOVE monsters! Halloween is their favorite time of year getting to see all the costumes and decorations. You would think that kids their age wouldn’t like watching scarier things before bedtime, but each night their movie of choice is The Nightmare Before Christmas! My four year old knows every word, not just to the songs but everything else too!
I have 3 kids — and they all love Monsters!! This will be a great addition to our Book collection!!
I love defeating the monsters that lay silently under my two daughters bed, or that may climb through some portal and find their way through our closets. My dollar store water bottle is now labeled as Monster-B-Gone, and a light mist of H20 banishes the gnarliest beasts. I would be honored to recieve a free copy of this book to accompany my monster fighting aresenal. Especially since I am about to be a grandmother to a little boy.
I have two boys who absolutely love halloween and monsters. We have one small book about different monsters that my youngest loves to read all the time. I am sure this book would also be read repeatedly

My 5 year old daughter LOVES monsters!! She even opted to be one for Halloween despite the fact that all her friends are being princesses and fairy’s.
both my girls LOVE monsters! my oldest even wanted to be a “super scary ghost” for halloween this year!
My daughters love to draw monsters. They will use their imaginations and run from them in the house, and I always have to tell the monsters to go home and leave the room at bedtime!
I have never heard of this book, but it looks like it has cool information in it. My neighbor and I plan on having a party for the kids on our block and the book will be a welcomed addition to our evening!!!
I have a 3 year old son who loves monsters! The last 3-4 months he has really gotten into them. With Halloween so close, he is seeing all of the different monster costumes and is not scared, but is always asking if he can get a costume to wear and scare his Daddy when he gets home from work. We have told him that monsters are fun to think about, but that they’re not real so there is no reason to be scared of them. He also LOVES Scooby-Doo so he is used to seeing that a person is the monster at the end of the episode which helps with him not being afraid of seeing “Monsters” in the store this time of year.
Since having kids my ho e has gone from a peaceful retreat to an array of settings : from a dungeon to a forest, from a dragon’s layer to a battle field. We love to encourage imagination and reading does a mind good
This book looks great. My daughter is at an age where we are starting to get into scary stories!
I have 2 boys and 2 girls and we read every night, I think this book would be an awesome piece to add to our collection
MONSTERS RO-Ha Ha ha ha hockkkkkkkk!!!!!!!!
This is great!! Maybe if I read this with my 8 year old she will view “monsters” in a less scary way so that she will stop asking me to sleep in her bed every night or to come back in her room to give her “just one more hug” (which is really like the 17th hug of the night)!

My 3 young kids love to read with Mommy. Our favorite game is mommy-o-saurus where I pretend to be a monster under a blanket and capture them! They all have quite an imagination. I am sure they would love this book!!
I have a daughter and a son n both are big monster fans. My son is an amazing artist n loves books with monster cause the info fascinates him and the illustrations are always a way for him to push his imagination to draw. The more creepy or gross the better. As for my daughter she also loves to draw but more then that she loves memorizing every detail on a monster, all it’s information n features. Reading is a must in our house and these types of books are what got them interested in reading. Thanks for yr time, hope we win.
My son loves monsters! For a 5 year old he really does have nerves of steel! He always wants to be the bad guy or monster in a movie and he will randomely jump out from behind something and scare us. lol He even sat down and watched Jeepers Creepers 2 and has never had a nightmare. Now that I have custody of this extraordinary little boy, I am constantly on the lookout for age appropriate media containing monsters. This book sounds exceptional!
What’s better than to have the inside scoop into all things monster!
I have six boys and they all have been concerned w/ monsters. But also I have boys whom enjoy monsters and love to scare each other. LOL During the hurricane here in CT, we had no power for 7 days and we told stories every nite, the pre-teen boys had so much fun scarring the 4~8 age group! LOL too much fun!
My 3yr old twin boys would love this book. The movie Monster’s Inc is a disney favorite in our house…HOWEVER, the closet doors MUST ble closed for my kiddos to go to sleep……Only good monsters under the bed :0)
my 3 yr old son is obsessed with monsters!! everything and anything becomes a monster on a daily basis when his mind starts running wild
Scared of Monsters? Preposterous! Who would be scared of a couple of Monsters? They are welcome at our cozy place anytime. I would know, I have two little goblins that would love to cuddle up to a good read filled of spine tingling spooks and scares.
I have 3 boys… Ages 9,8 & 4. We read every night, & October is Halloween themed books. We each take turns reading… Doing voices for each charecter. My boys look forward to storey time every night! I know they would love to add this one to thier list!!

I have three lovely little monsters who would just love to read about some of their own kind(jk). This would be a different but welcomed kind of book to our library!
This book looks amazing! I have recently re-discovered monsters through the 3 year old boy….I had forgotten how scary and awesome they are. One of my son’s favorite games to play is crawling up on my lap and snuggling super close under a warm blanket “hiding from the monsters” I’m sure that he would love exploring this book!
There are so many real monsters in this world, that it is important to “de-demonize” the silly ones in our heads and make them “approachable”. We should teach our children to recognize the difference between a real “monster” (ie, a stranger offering them a ride who may look like a very well-dressed, nice man or woman) and a “make-believe monster” (ie, the one-eyed, one-horned, flying purple people eater). This book does a wonderful and fun job of that!
I have two monstrous monsters who would love this book. Since they are only 2 and 4 they need a guide to all things monsters.
Monsters at one time was bad in my house soon turned to good after my daughter saw Monster Inc. For she feel in love with Sully as did I
She now loves to read monster books.
I have two little monsters and we Love Halloween! My daughter is 7 and has been reading a book to me every night and has to read 15 books for her class this month. She has even made her own books at home! My 9 month old loves to sit and listen and look at the pictures! Monsters, ghosts and pumpkins are our favorite topics to read and talk about in October to get us ready to trick or treat and we love the family time we get to spend together while we read!

THis looks like it would be a wonderful book. My 7 year old daughter loves anything fantasy and is just learning how to read by herself and to watch her comprehend a story is amazing. This would go great with her field guide to dragons book that she just started readig.
I have three professional monsters ages 12, 8 and 6…and one princess monster-in-training who just turned 1. My three boys L.O.V.E. anything creepy or spooky, especially monsters and they are bringing up their baby sister to love them too! I would love this fabulous book to add to our collection of creep-tastic reading materials!
Thanks for the chance to win!
My kids are Harry Potter fans and would love this book. My boy is a sci fi geek and loves anything alien or monster. Please oh please pick me!
Every Year for the last 23 years I have had a Halloween/Costume Party with LOTS OF FOOD, TREATS and a 45 minute Haunted Hayride! Before we embark on our Haunted Hayride we sit outside by the bonfire and read scary stories, which the kids love! I have a collection of scary books and just know that the book “Monstrous Book of Monsters” would be a great addition to my collection! HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE!
My little boy is 4 and since birth his nickname has been “Monster”! In fact, that’s what we’re going to be for halloween this year too! This would be a perfect book for him!
My 5yr. Old son loves reading about monsters. We would love a book to add to our collection.
My daughter’s not afraid of monsters because she knows monsters are afraid of Mom…lol
Monsters are great. My 3 yr old loves them and we use them to show her that everyone is different and different is good
We have a joke in my family that the only reason my Mom had me is that she would have someone to take to the Monster movies she loved so much..My Mom started taking me to Monster Movies when I was about 5. But she would always say cover your eyes when the really scary parts were coming on the screen. When my daughter came along one of the first things my Mom said to me was now I had someone to take to the Monster movies!! And she was right, my daughter LOVES Monsters and Monster Movies..she is fearless and loves anything scary -movies, books, tv shows and haunted houses!! Its kinda cool, she reminds me so much of my Mom!!
My 3 year old is just starting to get into monsters. He loves “reading” and this would be an excellent addition to his book library. He doesn’t have any monster books yet and I believe he would thoroughly enjoy it!
So long are the days of cute Halloween costumes for my 9 and 6 year old boys. They are all about scary and gross. They love to read about monsters and watch monsters. This book sounds awesome!
What a fun book! Im sure my little monster would love it.
maybe a good bed time book to read to our giant invisible spider! (so my youngest son says)
There is nothing better than hiding under the covers with a flashlight reading a book about monster at Halloween. Although we tend to go towards the funny rather than scary books, the last thing I want is a 6 year old in bed with me. This book sounds fantastic, we would love to add it to our library.
I have 3 girls and the love monsters. When i take them shopping for a costume they want to look at the monster one. They are not interested in the girl costumes. And my 7 yr old loves to read so she would enjoy this very much.
Oddly, none of my 4 kids have ever been scared of monsters, in fact it seems the scarier they are, the more my kids love them! Me, on the other hand, well…..I don’t do scary!
There was a one-eyed, one horn, flying purple people eater!!!! I used to love that song as a child, and still love all scary and creepy things now. Guess my daughter is following in my footsteps!!!! We love to watch/read monster/creepy crawly things together.
My son and I are total horror nuts! He has Jerry Seinfeld’s “Halloween” book put completely to memory. Bring on the spooks!
My getting bigger son was our Halloween gift & a monster-lover to boot… The freaks come out at night! gracias, casey
We pretend to be Mommy monster and baby monster: would be great to win!
My eldest child is two this year and this Halloween is the first that he seems actually aware if his surroundings, noticing pumpkins, skulls, spiders, monsters etc. It’s a hard line to walk in knowing what might terrify him and what we can expose him to to introduce the fun and spooky side of Halloween. He loves books and is very studious of the content in them, I think a book about monsters is a wonderful way to introduce them to children, a book isn’t as forceful or potentially traumatic as my child meeting these monsters for the first time when someone is dressed up like them but still allows for a creative imagination to bring them to life within the pages!
Monsters ROCK ….especially at this time of year!!! Love it !!!
We have a love/hate relationship with monsters. My kids loves them very much but hates it when daddy pretends to be one and scares the pants off them.
Monsters are a part of growing up. When my kids would get scared at night, I would bring in a can of air freshener for which I had made a new label that said “Scare Spray.” I would spray it in the room.. The room smelled wonderful and the kids felt better.
My kids LOVES monster’s!!! This is perfect!
I have a 5 year old that loves books. she loves to play she is a little monster around the house.
MONSTERS COME IN ALL SIZES AND SHAPES
SOME MAY HAVE FANGS, SOME MAY HAVE CAPES
SOME MAY BE BIG, and SOME MAY BE SMALL
BUT, I HAVE the BEST 2 MONSTERS OF ALL!!!!
I LOVE YOU SPENCER & BRODY!!!
My son loves to hear stories about monsters. I think hearing about them makes them a little less scary.
i remember when my gma used to qoute lil’ orphan annie to us, to make us be good… it worked.lol. i cant find that story anywhere. would love to read this book to my grandkids. so pick me!
When my little one gets scared at night (which is rarely, most things—even creepy things enthrall her), I will spray a bottle of water a few times in her room, which I call ‘Monster Spray’ and we tell her that it keeps away all things creepy while she’s sleeping. Fun for everyone!
My children adore monster books and I love the the time we spend reading them together. Not only does it allow us time to snuggle close, but monster stories spark their imagination and they become more creative. They enjoy writing and acting out their own spooky tales and the oldest provides illustrations. This year my four year old will be Frankenstein’s Monster for Halloween and his brother will most likely pick something similar. I would love to win this book to present them with and watch their faces light up .
My 5 yr old is obsessed with all things monsters. Currently, zombies are #1.
He’d be thrilled to add a monster book to our library!
Reading everyone’s comments , I can’t help but be reminded of the monsters in my childhood. I never thought they were in my closet but into my later years I would run and jump onto the bed… Now as a mother of two boys and the favorite auntie. to my sisters three I love to tell them the stories that were my favorite. the kids range from 1 to 9 and right now their favorite is Alvin Schwartz Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark. this would be a great new addition to our afternoon storytime
My kids would absolutely die over this book! They love playing monsters, drawing monsters, making monsters out of play-dough. They are monster crazy!
Monsters looks fabulous!!! Can’t wait to check it out.
I just love reading to my kids, my niece, and my nephew. I have 2 bookshelves and am working on our third. This books looks to be an exciting addition to our daily storytime.

My son is fascinated by monsters and anything Halloween. He was born a week before Halloween and every year for his birthday we have a costume party.
this book would be the perfect gift!!
My boy loves scary monsters and books.
I have 2 kids, the oldest is almost 4. He loves monsters, but seems to be scared of the toy that debuted last year (Big Foot Monster). We would really enjoy this book, it would show him that they are not scary
My 8 year old son is both fascinated and scared of monsters. He loves to read all about them and I love to read about them with him. Anything that gets him to read is awesome in my book.
This book looks awesome!! I have a 3 year old who loves monsters, as do his cousins! He wants to be Stitchfor Halloween this year. This would be a great addition to our library for bedtime stories.
My 6 year old son knows no fear. He trapses through the Halloween store, finding pleasure in all things creepy while my 11 year old son and I wait at the front door and cringe. I have to actively be on alert to redirect him from the too-scary stuff since he’ll go right to them if I were to allow that. Zombies? No problem. Monsters? Bring them on. Vampires? Absolutely. There’s no doubt that he’s going to be the one I catch up at 2 AM watching Night of the Living Dead. God help me. He would LOVE this book. It feeds his passion for scary stuff but at the appropriate level for his age.
My son is two years old and I call him my lil monster all the time, because he loves to hide and jump out saying “rawr”………lol we also read books every night and I think this book would be a great addition to order bookshelf.
* Our bookshelf……..lol dont you just love typos
I have 3 children… My oldest could careless about monsters but loves spooking his siblings all by himself ( 13 boy autistic) I have another child ( boy age 12) that is an aspiring make-up artist and is wonderful at what he does. he loves monsters and all the scary things in life… until he has to go out in the dark to let the chickens in to the shed ( haha). And my 3rd child ( 6 yr old girl) Is so interested in monsters but just cant look at them ( outside of a book and goosebumps). She has what is known as an ” Overactive Startle reflex ) and boy does she spook easily.. So trying to get all of our Little monsters on the same page is quite a task… Love that this author has figured out a way. Thank you FAN OF BEING A MOM for this offer as well.
My daughter loves anything scary. She just laughs and laughs at all the Halloween scary decorations and characters. I can’t wait for her to add monster books to her book collection. I know they are going to be the new favorite.
I have two girls ages 6 and 5. My girls love monsters. We even nicknamed my oldest Chloe Monster. The two of them are always drawning monsters and watching scary movies. Halloween is one of there favorite days because of all the gooles and goblins… Not to forget about the haunted houses. I think this would be a book our whole family would enjoy and it would be a great to WIN! Thank you
Yes please, my girls would love it.
Both my son’s have a fasination with monsters. Since my oldest (now 6) was two, he has talked about the two monsters that live in our house. One is “Pink” (the bad one) and one is “Blue” (the nice one). Pink and Blue are their names not their color. Now my youngest (age 2) has introduced us to his two monsters “Orange” and “Green”. The Green one is the “not nice” one. Orange has a pet Lion. He tells his big brother there are no such thing as Blue or Pink Monsters.
My daughter loves monsters and dragons. Is funny bc the things that she says she is scared of at night includes pigs and bats. Lol.
My son loves Halloween! He is so excited to get out all the creepy decorations. That is, until nighttime. Then it is just questions. “Are monsters real?” “Where are they?” “Do those move around at night?” LOL!
I used to be afraid of all monsters…and when my 1st child was a girl nothing changed! We were both ok with skipping monsters unless they were on Monsters Inc.. Now I have a 6 year old boy and we can not have enough monsters!! He’s trying to convince me to paint them on the walls of his room. Gremlins has become a fam favorite thanks to him!
I’m sure we could make great use out of such an awesome monster book!!
My little guy Dom is both terrified and engrossed by all things monster! He has a boooger man living in his heating vents and another that lives in a hole at daycare. He even pretend plays talking on the phone with them. He has recently started to read and what a great book to motivate reading! He would build his skills while learning mire about his favorite thing!!!
my son would love this he loves books and he likes to pretend the boogeyman is in the basement
It’s a pity it can’t bite and scuttle like the Monster Book of Monsters, but it looks to be a lot of fun anyway!
My soon to be 9 year old daughter used to think there were monsters under her bed and in her closest. I never discouraged it, only telling her that I would come in and shoo them away before putting her to bed for the night. We bought her a night light with the moon and stars on it and would turn it on after she’d gotten into bed. It made all the difference not pooh-poohing her fears. Now, after reading “Harry and the Terrible Whatzit” she no longer fears monsters, in fact, she thinks they’re actually pretty cool! This would be a most awesome book to add to her collection. Thanks for the giveaway!
We have a magic monster spray for those scary nights when monster fears arise. But we also try to teach our four children the difference between real and imagined. One of our favorite books is “The monster at the end of this book.” It shows children that sometimes the things they are scared of is really just a friend.
My son IS a little monster, so it would be totally appropriate to have this book!! He loves bugs and monsters… well, at least when there’s in books!
Monsters are apart of every little boys life.. I have 2 boys both very intrigued by monsters. My little guy is going to be a 3 eyed, 4 armed monster for Halloween.
My 3 children love when I (or anyone) reads to them. My 6 year old is starting to enjoy reading and this book looks like something that he would love to read to our family.
My son would love this book. He loves to scare everyone at home. With the knowledge that this book would provide, he would have more ammunition to work with. I hope he, not me, is the lucky winner of one of these books.
We have 3 boys (monsters sometimes..lol), and they love monsters and reading. They are really excited about this book too.
Great idea, get kids reading and help them overcome some fears!!!
I have 2 monsters who may use this awesome book as an opportunity to share!!
So far monsters aren’t a big scary deal, but instead they seem to fascinate my 5-year old.
We are just discovering monsters in our house. My 5 year old son would love this book. My 7 year old daughter, probably not!
We went to visit Grandma last year near Halloween. The neighbor was really into Halloween and had all kinds of great stuff in her yard. My little boy (then 3) kept sneaking off to go see the skeletons and monsters. And now a year later my son still talks about the cool skeletons and monsters and wants to go see them again.
My little man is 2 and LOVES anything monsters. He has a collection of monster toys, some that light up, some that make sounds, and some that just look awful! Every night before he goes to bed, he plays the “scary” game I have on my phone. He has been a big monster fan for a long time. This book would make an excellent addition to his monster repertoire.
monsters and ghosts were my favorite thing when i was little…and they still are! my little one is definitely headed down the same path!
My family loves monsters and anything a little strange or frightening. Not only that but I work with elementary age school children, and what fun it would be to have a book like this to share with them during the Halloween season! Anything to encourage reading!!!
This book looks like a monstrous opportunity for my three boys to read about something very interesting. Thanks for having the giveaway contest.
I would love to share these monsters with my 2 two little monsters! I know they would love it!
I have 3 little boys who love everything about monsters!! This book would definently be a #1 at our house!!!
As a speech assistant I have to use all sorts of creative books and games to get kids to work with me. Monsters of all kinds seems to do the trick. With Halloween approaching I need to pull out the big guns and reallllllyyyyy scare them. I am thinking some “Where the Wild Things Are” and “When Monsters are Born”. I would love to add this book to my arsenal.
This book looks like so much fun! 2 things my son loves, books and monsters!!

Haha, no kidding, there are still days that I take a running leap onto my bed! (Mainly after watching a scary movie or when my husband is out of town). My children are the ones afraid of nothing =). This would be a fantastic book to have, I see it leading to some interesting discussions with my 3 boys. Who knows, it may even be able to help me not have to run and leap onto my bed anymore!
My son loves monsters so much he wears his monster PJs to bed every night. At least once a week he demands that we read “My Monster Mommy Loves Me So”.
My daughter has had a fascination with monsters since she was 1 yr old. Her father and I had to let her watch all the Freddy Krueger, Jason (Friday the 13th), and Halloween (Michael Meyers). Nowadays I don’t let her watch these movies since she understands them better. But I still have to buy her age appropriate Monster movies and books. I got her into a classic monster movie as well, ‘Little Monsters’ with Fred Savage.
She loves it! Oh and ‘Beetlejuice’
We love monsters and reading at our house. One of our favorite books is about monsters. Would love to add this book to are collection! !! Thanks
I have 4 children and do child care. Oh my what fun they would have with this book. The kids love dressing up and acting like monsters in all their games. I just love sitting back and watching all the imaginations go. If we were picked for this book? It would be told to so many different children year after year. My 4 year old loves playing monsters and loves watching shows with nice monsters “like Monters Inc, and Grover”. Hope you have a fun time reading these.
My kids constantly talk about monsters in my house. Unfortunately after bedtimes its always about how scary they are. When the lights are on they seem to have no problem with them. The dark changes a lot of things.
I saw a monster movie when I was about 9 or 10 that gave me nightmares for years. It was a blobby octopus sort of thing that grew and couldn’t be contained in a prison. And it always had weird sounds playing when it was about to do something. I prefer funny monsters. Ones that are cute and cuddly and can make me laugh.
I have a 2 year old son who thinks he is a monster. He loves the whole idea and everything about monsters, and we love reading together
My girls are NOT scared of monsters!
My 3 kids favorite holiday is Halloween!! They get it from us… We love the creepy and fun side of Halloween! Plus, we collect books of all kinds with cool info.
My 3 boys would love this book. They are not afraid of much of anything.
I think having three little “monsters” qualifies us to try and win a book about them!
I have been collecting fantasy creature references for my children for a long time. This would be an excellent addition to the collection! Thanks for the giveaway!
I love monsters, and I especially love to read about classical mythological monsters! I think it’s amazing that story traditions from thousands of years ago still survive today, like cyclops and the minotaur. It shows just how meaningful monsters are!
I love monsters… My daughter will have me check under her bed for them.
I’m not too sure if my son is ready for super scarry monsters, but he is going to make the cutest monster you ever saw this halloween
I dont let my children watch tv. I think reading is the best way they can learn and develop. I have a 5yr old and a 7mth old and we would love to add another book to our collection!
The first book my daughter could read was I Have a Monster in My Closet. Since then she has read a lot of wonderful books and this one sounds like it would be great.
I know my youngest son would love this. He loves reading about scary things and getting scared. Thank you
Monsters are great as long as they’re in our imagination!
Imagination is what its all about!!!!!!
my little prince Nikolas loves monsters very much. We gave them “silly” names that makes him laugh. He isn’t afraid of them.
