“Justin Bieber: Never Say Never” – Mom Approved
Posted on February 1, 2011 by FoBaM-Jamie

Each and every mom has the most amazing kid in the world, but not every mom has a kid who is literally taking over the world – one heart, one concert stage at a time. We’re excited to bring you a great giveaway around Justin’s upcoming movie Justin Bieber: Never Say Never (see the bottom of this post), but first – a few sound bytes from one of today’s most high-profile moms, Pattie Mallette – aka “Justin Bieber’s mom.”
As Justin’s fame rises, do your responsibilities as a mom change at all?
The responsibilities change somewhat, and I have to adapt as a mom. For instance, I can’t ground him if he misbehaves. I have to be creative – taking away privileges like computers and phones. My bottom line responsibilities are to keep him safe and grounded. That means I need to discipline him when he needs it – in whatever way works.
How does it feel as a mom to see your son achieve so much success and accomplish his dreams?
I am so proud, and so happy for him. As a mom, it’s amazing and emotional to watch your child achieve his dreams and such a high level of success. Anyone would be thrilled to be in his position. I burst with joy for him. Of course, there are concerns; but for him, I am thrilled. As we begin a new year, what is something you wish for Justin?
For 2011, I want Justin to continue to follow his dreams, to continue to shoot for the moon. I don’t want him to think that anything is unachievable. Each mom is kind of programmed to worry about her kids. What are your biggest concerns for Justin?
Because he has so many people catering to him, my biggest concern is keeping him grounded. I remind him constantly that he is no better than anyone else. My worry is that he might mistake all the manufactured things around him for reality.
Sounds like being mom to an international pop sensation isn’t really all that different (except for the world travel, screaming fans, and red carpet galas) from being anyone else’s mom. In the end, each mom just wants her child to be happy, healthy, grounded, and fulfilled.
While Pattie and Justin take on the world, we’re creating our own little celebrity corner with a group on Fans of Being a Mom: Justin Bieber: Never Say Never. If you’re a Bielieber, you can join the group to connect with other Bieber moms.
But now – without further ado – here’s the scoop on the goodies that a few lucky moms will take home:
- One lucky winner will go home with an exclusive screening package on February 9th to Justin Bieber: Never Say Never in 3D which includes a total of 2 tickets, two pairs of exclusive purple 3D glasses, 2 VIP lanyard necklaces to two purple glow sticks.*
- And five more Beliebers will get their very own pair of the exclusive, purple 3D glasses. (You may have seen them on the red carpet at the Golden Globes.)
* Screening locations are throughout the U.S.
To enter, just leave a comment on this post within the next 24 hours (before midnight EST on 2/2/11). We’ll notify our random winners on 2/3/11 and announce them here on the blog shortly afterwards.
Good luck & keep Beliebing!

It’s refreshing to hear that just because she is the mom of “Justin Bieber” – she is still like one of us. A regular mom who wants the best for her child. And that she still instills rules and consequences. She is proud of his accomplishments (like any mom) but won’t let him get away with things. Keeping him grounded is very important.
I’d love to take my daughter to this!
I applaud Pattie for raising her son to reach for the stars and continue to pursue his passion while all the while keeping him “grounded”. It is obvious when you see Justin in an interview that he loves and respects his mom and how she makes sure he doesn’t forget where he came from and that she is still in charge! I love how he also knows that God has played a big part in his success as well.
Every time he is on TV my girls squeal while jumping up and down! At 8 & 5 years old they both know all the words to his songs. We watched him the other night on Extreme Home Makeover and they kept saying how they wish they could meet him! Although that will probably never happen, seeing his movie premier would be the next best thing!
We are all Beliebers!!
I would love to take my 9 yr old daughter to this!!! She loves him!
x fingers crossed x
My son really likes his music. It would be awesome to be able to take his to see the movie for free. Even if I don’t win these tickets, either way, we will be going to see it.
My daughter is absolutely DYING to see this!! She has been talking about it for months now
My 3 yr old son went to his concert and absolutely adores him, he tells me all the time he wishes Justin was his big brother and he has little concerts at home for me, its sooo cute! So glad there is someone like Justin for my boys to look up too! He now tells me he wants to be like him and play the guitar.. sooo cute!!! Pattie has done a wonderful job raising a wonderful man!!!
My daughter just turned 4 years old and is absolutely head over heals in love with Justin. It’s quite cute
when she watches the video one less lonely girl she swears he is sad in it because he can’t find her and he misses her. Everytime the advertisement comes on for Never say never she gets so excited and jumps around and asks when I am going to take het to see her boyfriend! I would love to take her to this movie. She has the justin bieber doll that sings baby and sleeps with it at night.
From what I have seen of JB, Pattie has done/ is doing a great job raising her son.
My 15 year old daughter already has plans to see “Never Say Never in 3D”. I would love to be able to give her these tickets!
I have 2 twelve year olds and a ten year old daughters and though I like Justin Bieber and think he is a positive young artist,I would love to listen to other music besides his…lol! With that being said I think my daughters would give me” you’re the bomb” status for a while if I were the lucky winner. Keep up the terrific job Pattie!!
My 10 year old has the fever. She is counting the days until she can see Never Say Never in 3D. Would love to win this for her!
What an inspirational story for me and my 12 year old daughter. She was impressed to know that her (boyfriend:) Justin and his relationship with his mom is very real and he hasn’t let all this fame change who he is. My daughter has loved Justin since his first song came out and talks about his movie “Never Say Never” coming out. She would absolutely be on top of the world if she was chosen to see this! I hope we get this opportunity, I would love to share this with her!!
My daughters can’t wait to see this!!! They love Justin Bieber.
I wouldn’t say my daughter is his biggest fan(since there are so many)I will say that she adores him to death!Everything is “Justin this,Justin that”Her room is covered from ceiling to floor with posters, calenders, stickers, you name it!She is 9 yrs old and she now has my 2 yr old son going around the house singing!I think he is a good kid,and I commend his mom for doing it on her own.Way to go!!
Did I happen to mention I would be the coolest, bestest, greatest mom if I won these!Just saying;)
It is great to see his mother trying to keep him grounded. My daughter just loves him.
My daughter can’t wait! This is actually going to be part of a birthday celebration for us, because she turns 14 on Feb. 9th!!!
)
Just wanted to let Justin’s mom Pattie know what an astonishing young man you have raised. I had the pleasure of taking my 14 yr. old daughter to his concert when he came to Albany, NY and was very impressed by Justin’s interaction with the audience and making each and every fan feel as though the song he was singing was all about them!! He really made my daughters night and I am proud to say that I also really enjoyed myself!! My daughter has loved Justin ever since she found his videos on You Tube!! So from one mom to another keep up the good work!!!
My daughter would love this! She just loves JB and can’t wait to see the movie
My 9 year old daughter Miss Summer Rayne SWEARS that Justin will someday be my son in law lol . So if she gets to be there for his BIG day it would make her sooo very happy ty
My 9 year old daughter is of course a huge Justin fan and dreams of one day getting to meet him in person, but until then she is counting down the days until his movie release.
A few weeks ago my three-year-old daughter said “the only boys I like are my Daddy and Justin Bieber” LOL
I would love to take my 10 year old daughter to this! It would be the best birtday present she could EVER receive! She and I are a huge beliebers!!
My daughter is a HUGE Bieber Fan!!! She Lovvves him! We just had her a Justin Bieber Birthday party Sunday
My daughter also loves Justin Bieber!! What girl doesnt right now? Seems like his mom is doing a great job so far! I think he is more than just a “pop star” he is very musically talented & at such a young age…just imagine what his future holds:)
What an amazing journey Justin & his mom are living! This family is full of Justin Bieber fans and would love the opportunity to attend such a great event!!! Thanks for the chance…
Pattie has obviously done an amazing job in raising her son! I have a 15-year-old son, Zac, and a 6-year-old daughter, Lexie. Justin is her first “crush” she has ever developed, and I don’t discourage it because he seems to be such a humble, talented, well-grounded, and inspiring young man. We have watched his career grow and I am amazed how he handles himself and his fame. We have watched all of his interviews and he conducts himself with such grace and it is obvious how much he loves his family. Lexie can’t wait for me to take her to see his movie and always asks if I can invite him to her birthday party!
My daughters like him. They would Love to go see this, my 14 yr old keeps telling her dad for his birthday on the 12th she is taking him to see this movie! LOL! Great story about overcoming adversities .
My kids cant wait to see this movie! Thanks for bringing up such a good kid!
My 13 year old fell in love with him on you tube before he got really famous and still loves him now! We went to see him at the Verizon Center in December for her birthday and he really puts on an amazing show. It’s refreshing to hear that his mother wants to keep him grounded with all of the success that he’s had…looks like she’s doing a great job so far.
My daughter would love to go to this. She is 5 and in love with him and it is funny how my 8 year old doesn’t like hime. Please let us win.
I’ll have to say, I was never a big “Bieber” fan until recently. My neighbor’s 4 year old son Hayden was a huge Justin Bieber fan. He and his sister were frequent playmates of my two girls who are 4 and 5. A week before Christmas, Hayden was killed in a car accident. The song “Baby” by Justin Bieber was played at his funeral. I listen to it all the time now. It’s the most frequently played song on my ipod. My girls listen to it over and over. How awesome would it be to take one of them to this!
I would love to win. It would be the surprise of a lifetime. I like some of his songs myself. I think his mom has a hard job, but she is doing a great job. She seems down to earth and she seems to be raising him the same way. I sure hope I win.
This would be awesome to win!
I would love to win this!
I would love to take my daughter to this movie. She loves him.
My daughter would love me forever if I were to win this! We missed his concert when he came to town over the summer and this would almost make up for it!!
Mama is in a good place, and she has him trained well! ….when he is old, he will not depart. That’s a promise!!
Truly inspiring read.. Wishing you both luck on this magical journey!
OMG! My 3 yr and 14 yr absolutely love Justin Bieber!! My 3 yr old plays his videos all day long and watches whatever show he is on. She actually cries when she sees him on some shows! She always wants him to come to her house..lol! Both of my girls can’t wait to see his movie!!
My 5’9″ 13 year old daughter, Olivia, would like to be “Mrs. Bieber” someday! We saw him in concert last October, and it was a great show!
My Daughter will be 7years old on the 9th.. What a wonderful gift to be able to see the movie before anyone!!! She loves JB so much.. From Posters on her wall to the back pack on her back… We love Justin!!
Unfortunately we missed seeing Justin when he came to our city last year. He’s one of the few artists I feel good about my daughter listening to his music and lyrics. His mother sounds like a real gem and is so concerned about keeping him grounded. Hats off to him and to her for being the best kind of mom to her son!
This would be a great surprise for my daughter.
My daughter would love to go!
